"Coron/o" is a medical combining form that refers to the heart. It is derived from the Latin word "corona," which means "crown." 

Usage: 

  • Coronary artery: The blood vessels that encircle and supply blood to the heart. 

Coronary heart disease (CHD): A condition in which the coronary arteries become narrowed or blocked. Coronectomy: Surgical removal of a part of the heart muscle.

  • Cardio: Combining form for heart
  • Myo: Combining form for muscle
  • Ventricul: Combining form for ventricle (a chamber of the heart) 

Note: "Coron/o" is not to be confused with "onco/o," which is a combining form for tumor.
