Good Cholesterol (HDL) 

High-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol is known as "good" cholesterol because it helps remove harmful cholesterol from the arteries and back to the liver for disposal

Benefits: Protects against heart disease and stroke, Reduces plaque buildup in the arteries, and Improves overall cardiovascular health. 

Desired Levels: Men: 40 mg/dL or higher and Women: 50 mg/dL or higher. 

How to Increase HDL:

  • Exercise regularly
  • Quit smoking
  • Manage stress
  • Consider taking cholesterol-lowering medications if prescribed by a doctor
